In Hinduism, the waterfall is a natural offering of water by Nature to God Shiva who is present in the water streams and rivers of the earth. The sound from the falling water is comparable to the sound of breath in the body. According to legends, because of their beauty and majesty, waterfalls serve as a bathing place for gods and celestial beings who frequent them. Waterfalls thus denote the flow of life, energy, consciousness, and breath from one plane to another or one part of the body to another. Their reverberating sound represents the subtle sound of the flow of life energy in the veins of the body. Symbolically, it also denotes positive energy, youthful exuberance, happiness, vigor, the playful mood of a flowing river, and the vicissitudes of life.
The Uranus collection is inspired by the Greek word Uranos, which means sky. Uranus, in Greek mythology was the primordial god of the sky and heaven. According to Hesiod’s Theogony, Gaea (Earth), emerging from primeval Chaos, produced Uranus, the Mountains, and the Sea. The Greeks imagined the sky as a solid dome of brass, decorated with stars, whose edges descended to rest upon the outermost limits of the flat earth. Uranus was the literal sky, just as his consort Gaia was the earth. The collection features pieces inspired by the sky, the galaxies, the moon and the sun.
