Tribute to Tseklenis

Tribute to Tseklenis. An exhibition of the original 70’s drawings

i-D Concept stores were honored and happy to present for the first time to the general public the rare and authentic drawings on paper of the designs for fabrics of Yannis Tseklenis.

The international creator, Greek ambassador in the world of fashion worldwide since the 60s and a pioneer of branding and the creative industry of that time, with patterns and fabrics of his exclusive inspiration and production, has exported design and fashion for over three decades. His designs were loved like few others and were printed on dresses shown on covers and in articles in the largest magazines internationally (Vogue, Vanity Fair, Harper’s Bazaar, Times, Queen, Flair, Constanze, Elle, Figaro, Washington Post, LA Times, Boston Globe, Daily Mail, Daily Telegraph etc.), while at the same time his collections reached the shelves of the most famous stores in the world in over 20 countries (Harrods, Selfridges, Debenhams, Bergdorf Goodman, Bonwit Teller, Saks 5th Avenue, B. Altman, Neiman Marcus, Sakowitz, Mitzoukosi, Takashimaya etc.).

His creations which made Greece fashionable, with a historical, artistic and costume value, can be seen in museums such as Victoria & Albert Museum, Metropolitan Museum of New York, Art of Silk Museum in Soufli and Peloponnesean Folk Art Museum where he has donated more than 800 original outfits.

Yannis Tseklenis, always topical, continues to be a point of reference!

i-D Concept stores, in order to honor the uniqueness of his creations, in cooperation with three contemporary and recognized Greek creators, have designed a mini collection inspired by his drawings.

Sophia Kokosalaki, Dolly Boucoyannis and Angelos Bratis, each adding his/her own unique mark, bring back to life the most characteristic designs of the 70s.

Printed in Soufli on Greek silk by Silk House Tsiakiris and presented in gold with precious stones, the rebirth of the drawings creates a unique collection of dresses and pieces of jewellery. A result both topical and impressively timeless at the same time.

The exhibition of the original fabric designs by Yannis Tseklenis, together with the collection by Sophia Kokosalaki, Dolly Boucoyannis and Angelos Bratis, was inaugurated with an all day event (12:00 – 19:00 pm) on Saturday April 1st, 2017, in the specially laid-out space of the i-D Concept Stores in Kolonaki, Kanari 12.

The collection of dresses and jewellery by Sophia Kokosalaki, Dolly Boucoyannis and Angelos Bratis were available exclusively at the i-D Concept Stores in Kolonaki and in Golden Hall.

During the exhibition (1-29 April 2017) the rare originals by the unique Yannis Tseklenis will also be on sale.
