Views of the Mediterranean Photo Exhibition

Views of the Mediterranean

Different views of the Mediterranean sea, the sea that connects in blue the three continents and so many cultures, the sea which is full of images, memories and presentations is presented by the photo exhibition inaugurated at the i-D ProjectArt entitled «Views of the Mediterranean» on Thursday September 28th. It is an exhibition that wishes to extend our summer, having the camera as the guide, offering us a sense of coolness at the autumn’s doorstep.

It is the second exhibition organized at i-D ProjectArt, a place where art obtains another dimension after the exhibition of the international Greek artist Lydia Venieri entitled «Taros of love».

Eight prominent Greek photographers capture the numerous and different views of the Mediterranean. They narrate their unique stories hidden in its waters, seek its “mythical treasures” in its bottom, rest on its lazy beaches and stun on the clouds that crown it. With such a big and yet so familiar hug that knows how to open generously and surround us, the Mediterranean rewards us with its unique beauties. Beautiful landscapes, travelers who lost their compass, the wave splashing on the rock in a charming and perpetual motion. The Mediterranean is all these and many more, the sea that –as its name- is in the middle of the Earth.

The following photographers participate in the exhibition (in alphabetical order): Zetta Antsakli, Melita Vaggelatou, Katerina Vafeia, Marina Vernicos, Ilias Georgouleas, Katerina Kaloudi, Ilias Cosintas, Vangelis Kyris. The Deco Portraits presented by Vangelis Kyris are in collaboration with Anatoli Georgiev.

They all together cerate the colorful Mediterranean mosaic. They offer a trip to the sometimes calm and sometimes wavy sea, a walk in the places and the contrasts that make up her face, a poetic sinking into its secrets and unseen sides. Either in color or in black and white, they record unique portraits that show typical Mediterranean styles. The Mediterranean is the places, the people, the animals, the birds, the fishes, the shells, but above all its history. The Mediterranean is our home. The Mediterranean is us…

Duration of the exhibition from Thursday September 28th 2017 until November 11th 2017
